How does LAGA hope to promote competitive amateur golf?

LAGA works with golf professionals, coordinates a volunteer staff, and establishes a healthy relationship with local businesses with the goal of running quality tournaments that are pleasing to competitors, sponsors and the community.

What tournaments does LAGA hope to coordinate during 2009?

Overall we were quite pleased with the tournaments we sponsored in 2008. Participation grew, comments were positive, and we received a great deal of encouragement to continue our efforts. In 2009, we are coordinating two BIG Events, City tournament and Fundraiser for Headquarters. Entry forms will be available online and/or at local golf shops this Spring.

The Lawrence Amateur Golf Association was founded in the fall of 2000 by Ron Shaver and Chris Thompson. LAGA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of competitive amateur golf in the City of Lawrence and Douglas County, Kansas.
